The firstl Dallas Rock N Roll Half Marathon happened last Sunday.
The organisers made a big statement : They can compete with any half marathon out there. Over 9,400 athletes began the 13.1-mile run from Dallas City Hall. The starting line was flanked by Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders dancing to speaker-thumping music echoing off glass office towers while thousands watched wave after wave of hundreds begin their run. The entire race, from start to finish in Fair Park, had a festive flair. Live bands entertained the runners each mile of the course, including the still sleeping neighborhoods of Highland Park, Lakewood, and Swiss Avenue.

ING Miami half and full marathon 2010 took place over the weekend.Some interesting stories of everyday heros who finished the race were posted on miami herald.
My favorite inspiring story was this one.
Halfway through the marathon, FIU student Andy Wu, 19, took off the shoes from his aching feet and handed them to a friend. To soften the impact on his bare feet, he ran on the yellow stripe in the middle of the road. “I actually ran better because it helped my posture,” said Wu, who finished in 4:30. “But running over the bridge and gravel really hurt.”
I Loved the never say die spirit!

Carlsband marathon happened yesterday and a field of 8000 marathon runners did the half and the full Carlsbadn marathon.

The last runner to cross the finish line at the 2010 Chevron Houston Marathon was Diane Kassab (56) her finish time was 6 hours, 1 minute and 5 seconds.
When asked by houston chronicle why she took so long to complete the race, this was her reply
It was fun. The spirit is tremendous,” said Kassab, of Houston. “I danced to every band. That was probably my mistake.
Another interesting observation was that the former US president George H. W. Bush was at Mile 19 to give all runners a hand shake. I think that was brilliant of him.

23,000 marathon runners hit the streets of Hawaii for the 2009 Honolulu marathon. I don’t know why this race is so popular with Japanese runners, 15,000 of them ran the race.
A lady, Honolulu photographer, who lives along the Honolulu marathon route took some awesome photos, from the images you would have been forgiven if you thought the images were of Tokyo marathon. The Japanese were all over.
The Honolulu marathon picture below (see the Sign inside) must have been spotted at the 20 mile mark. A point when most runners are dazed & hungry and might not tell the difference between Vaseline & Butter!

The California International Marathon in Sacramento happened yesterday and as usual the wonderful spectators were on the side to take some amazing race photos.

2009 Rock and Roll Las Vegas Marathon was brilliant. Famous Las Vegas strip provided a perfect background for some amazing photos.
Images were hard to come by but I was able to come across this two 2009 Las Vegas pictures.
 Runners dressed as super heroes at 2009 Rock & Roll Las vegas marathon  If you are going to say I do, Do it doing the thing you love.
Las Vegas marathon has drive in wedding chapels along the route where runners can say I do or for renew marriage vows for the already married.

The 2009 New York Marathon was as colorful as always. Although we celebrate the runners we forget the spectators who equally do a magnificent job of taking photos.
For me, two Images stood out from the 2009 NYC marathon.
This Frenchman who came along with the Eiffel tower.
