It was another superb San Francisco Marathon. A record number of 24,000 from around the world hit the streets of San Francisco.

As usual the ever dependable spectators around Sacramento were on hand with their cameras to capture the moment.

Registration For 2011 Boston Marathon

Registrations for 2011 Boston Marathon will open Monday, October 18 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern, online at official Boston marathon organizers website. The 115th edition of the Boston Marathon will be on Monday, April 18, 2011.

Qualifying times for 2011 Boston marathon

The qualifying times remain just like they have been, read my post on qualifying times for Boston marathon.

Qualifying standards for the 2011 Boston Marathon must be met on or after September 20, 2009 at a marathon certified by USA Track & Field, the national governing body for the sport (or foreign equivalent).

The registration fee remains at $130 for American residents. The field size for next year’s Boston Marathon remains as it has been in recent past years.

I have been looking all over the web for pictures from 2010 Rite Aid Cleveland Full & Half Marathon Photos & Picture and at last found them. See cleveland marathon pictures @ local radio photo gallery

The race was run by impressive crowd of 15,000 runners. The race was made up of 5k run, 10k run, half marathon and a full marathon. Cleveland marathon course is billed as one of the fastest and flattest in US. Other attractions are, great weather and a newly redesigned course that runs past major city attractions like the rock and roll hall of fame.

Chris Solinsky has debunked the Myth that stated only light weight runners can run a fast 10,000m.

Chris Solinksy’s 26:59.60 10,000m American record is special in 4 ways.

According to science of sports, Only 31 runners have broken 27 minutes for 10,000m.
According to running times, No non African-born runner has ever run as fast.
No one in the world—not Bekele, Tadese, Kogo or anybody else—has run that fast this year.
The big one: His weight, Chris Solinsky weighs 73Kgs, compare that to the top guns at this level, Bekele at 54 kg (119 lbs), Gebrselassie (56 kg/123 lbs), Tergat (63kg/132 lbs) and Sammy Wanjiru (52kg/115 lbs). The sports scientist has a fantastic graph on these, see graph

So How Did Solinsky Train to be this fast? : Training Regimen & Work Out

The answer is inside a running times interview. The guy disclosed he has focused on aerobic running. By aerobic running he means he does his training by running at a pace he is able to breath comfortably.We can all do this but the special thing about Chris is the distance he covers in a week, he runs 100 – 120 miles a week. He has been doing this over the years and it seems he is now reaping the fruits.

It was a cold Disney Princess Half Marathon 2010. Evidence of a cold morning could be seen all along the race route, with jackets and blankets spread all over.

2010 Hyannis Marathon Race photos & Pictures

The local paper had a great photo taken at the start of the race : a picture of Dad with his wheel chair bound son just ahead of the leading pack. See photo at cod times site

2010 Gasparilla Half & Full Marathon photos & Pictures

The notable thing about thsi race was the 41 year old winner, Terri Rejimbai won the womens half in a time of 1 hr 22 mins. See pictures at st petersburg website

The largest running field over the weekend, 21000 runners turned up. I wondered why the winner had a slow finish time in the low 2:30s. This picture tells it all

Rock N Roll Mardi Gras Marathon Photos : Pictures

The Rock N Roll Mardi Gras Full & Half Marathon took to the streets of New Orleans on Sunday morning.

Forty-five bands rocked on 24 stages across the entire half-marathon and marathon courses.

16,000 runners came up dressed in the best marathon costumes that made it a good day for stock photos, sports photo galleries & sports photo library.

Special mention goes to Philip Lawrence, who made Sunday’s run his 107th marathon in 24 years.

2009 Honolulu Marathon Race Photos : Pictures : Images

23,000 marathon runners hit the streets of Hawaii for the 2009 Honolulu marathon. I don’t know why this race is so popular with Japanese runners, 15,000 of them ran the race.

A lady, Honolulu photographer, who lives along the Honolulu marathon route took some awesome photos, from the images you would have been forgiven if you thought the images were of Tokyo marathon. The Japanese were all over.

The Honolulu marathon picture below (see the Sign inside) must have been spotted at the 20 mile mark. A point when most runners are dazed & hungry and might not tell the difference between Vaseline & Butter!

2009 Rock and Roll Las Vegas Marathon was brilliant. Famous Las Vegas strip provided a perfect background for some amazing photos.

Images were hard to come by but I was able to come across this two 2009 Las Vegas pictures.

Las Vegas marathon has drive in wedding chapels along the route where runners can say I do or for renew marriage vows for the already married.
